Three arrested for loot

Bhilai, Sep 17: Police have arrested three ruffians on charges of committing loot on National Highway. The accused had looted a motorcycle from a person near Kosa Nullah Toll Plaza on the intervening night of September 16. CSP (Bhilai Nagar) Rakesh Kumar Joshi informed that the victim Shiv Kumar Paikra of Tatibandh Raipur was moving towards his in-laws place in Chikhli on his bike.
Near Kosa Nullah Toll Plaza, he was intercepted by three ruffians. The ruffians threatened him and demanded money. When the victim resisted, they took him on the knife point and looted his bike. A case was lodged under section 394 of IPC and Section 25 of Arms Act.
On the instructions of SSP Badri Narayan Meena and ASP (City) Sanjay Dhruw, the team of Supela Police Station activated its network of informers and soon a suspect Gulzar was taken in custody. During interrogation, he confessed involvement in the crime. Later, other two accused were also arrested.
The accused are identified as Shekhar Gurde (41) son of Salikram Gurde; Gulzar Singh (34) son of Sukhdev Singh; and Dinesh Shankar alias Panda (20) son of Daya Shankar Vajpayee all residents of Kosa Nagar, Supela. All the three ruffians are accused in several other criminal offences registered at Supela Police Station. Inspector Suresh Kumar Dhruw, ASI NK Bhadauria, Rajnikant Diwan, Head Constable Santosh Sharma, Constable Vikas Tiwari, Niyaz, Rajneesh Tiwari and Ajeet Singh played vital role in arresting the accused.
