‘Swachhata Saptah’ organised to mark World Health Day

Bhilai, Apr 09: The Public Health Department of SAIL- Bhilai Steel Plant has been celebrating “World Health Day”, as the department’s Foundation Day, since its very inception. On this day, besides release of the report on departmental works, discussions are also held on the annual theme announced by the World Health Organization. The departmental staff are also felicitated for their outstanding performance during the year.
In view of an uninterrupted work execution, it was proposed to celebrate the Foundation Day by following the work in a different and innovative manner. Under which, towards achieving the motto of “Swachh Bhilai, Swasth Bhilai”, a ‘Swachhata Saptah’ or cleanliness week is being observed by holding special cleanliness and public awareness programs along with various other events from April 07, 2023 to April 15, 2023.
On the first day of ‘Swachhata Saptah’, special cleaning activities were carried out in the old Civic Center area of Bhilai, on April 07. On the subsequent day, on April 08, an awareness campaign against the use of polythene was organized in the A- Market area of Sector-6. In the coming days of ‘Swachhata Saptah’, Safai Abhiyan is scheduled, whereby special Cleanliness & Awareness activities shall be carried out with public participation at several locations of Bhilai including, the adjoining areas of Civic Centre on April 09, awareness campaigns against the use of polythene in Boria Market and Chhattisgarh Sabzi Mandi, Ruabandha on April 10 and 11, and in A-Market, Sector-4, and Zonal Market, Sector-10 on April 12 and 13 respectively.
On the last day, on April 15, an awareness campaign against the use of polythene is going to be organized in the C-Market area of Sector 6. The closing ceremony of 9-day long ‘Swachhata Saptah’ is proposed on April 17, 2023 at Mahatma Gandhi Kala Mandir, Bhilai.
