SP instructs to improve traffic regulation and control

Bhilai, Jul 08: Superintendent of Police Prashant Agrawal chaired a meeting of the Inspectors and Sub Inspectors positioned in the Traffic Wing and gave them instructions to improve the traffic regulation and control system for ensuring smooth and safe movement of vehicles on the roads.
During the meeting held at Traffic Police Office in Gurudwara Chowk, Nehru Nagar, he instructed the traffic officers to take effective action against those who obstruct the road, drive without registration number, over-speeding, modified silencer, driving under the influence of alcohol and vehicles parked in no-parking spots.
In order to prevent road accidents, SP asked the Traffic Police Officers to conduct joint inspections with officials of the Public Works Department and Transport Department in accident-prone areas and take all necessary measures in the public interest.
Wherever required, arrangements like rumble strip, road marking, sign board etc should be made by establishing coordination with the concerned departments. In the cases of road accidents, he directed to compulsorily file a case to the Transport Department for suspension of the license of the accused driver.
He instructed to prepare a separate action plan to develop the traffic system of Durg district. The meeting was attended by Additional Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Kavilash Tandon, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Gurjit Singh, Inspector Avdharam Sahu, Inspector Bharti Markam, Inspector Sangram Singh, Inspector DP Patre, Inspector Jitendra Verma, Subedar Anis Sarathi and other officials of traffic police.
