Shapath Foundation organises “Thank You Bhilai”
Bhilai, Feb 05: Social organisation, Shapath Foundation organised a colourful programme Thank You Bhilai just like previous years with the aim being to look back on the achievements and express gratitude to the city of Bhilai. The venue of the celebration was Shaheed Park, Sector-05 Bhilai.
The Chief Guest on the occasion was Mahadev Kavre, Divisional Commissioner Durg while NK Banchor, President, BSP Officers Association, M Ravindranath Chief Medical Officer Sector 9 & Sameer Swarup Chief General Manager Mines Rowghat were present as special guests.
The program was started with Sadbhavana cross country race (male and female) which was flagged off by the chief guest. Thereafter, about 2000 colorful balloons were released in the sky with the slogan of Thank you Bhilai. Prominent personalities who have brought laurels not only in the state but also in the country and abroad, were honoured with “Bhilai Ratna”, including IP Mishra (Education), S Swaminathan Iyer (Industry and Trade), Daljit Singh posthumously for social service, Jagannath Yadav (Sports), Rajeshwar Rao (Environment), Dr Sanjeev Issar (Medical), Nalini Srivastava (Literature), Sonali Chakraborty (Women Empowerment), Rajni Rajak (Arts & Music).
In the field of social service, 10 institutions were honoured with the Vishisht Seva Samman for their dedicated work, including Sarvadharma Seva Sanstha, Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation, Jan Samarpan Seva Sanstha, Geet Vitaan Kala Kendra, Darul Rahat Alima Social Society, Aggarwal Samaj Bhilai, Shakti Pravah Udaan Ek Manzil, Gurdwara Management Committee Nehru Nagar, All India Telugu Community Welfare Association and Sneh Sampada. For the first time, a question-and-answer competition was also organised with the audience with city of Bhilai as the central theme which was conducted by journalist Yashwant Sahu.
At the outset, welcome address was given by President of Shapath Foundation Ashok Gupta. While the report of the organization was narrated by patron Virendra Satpathy and vote of thanks was addressed by Amitabh Bhattacharya and Anil Shukla conducted the programme.
