Safety awareness week inaugurated at CO & CCD

Bhilai, Mar 20: Safety awareness week was inaugurated at SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant’s Coke Ovens & Coal Chemicals Dept (CO & CCD) by Rajeev Sehgal, ED (Works) on March 19, 2021. GA Rao, CGM (CO & CCD), GP Singh, Actg. CGM (Safety), LJ Benjamin, GM I/c (O), B Nag, GM I/c (CCD), Rajiv Srivastava, GM I/c (CRG), Biju Paswan, GM (Maint.), AK Mittal, DSO, BC Mandal, DSO, Arun Srivastava, AGM (Pers-CO CCD), Anjali Patel, DM (Pers-CO CCD), SK Baghel, President, INTUC, Sanjay Sahu (INTUC), Sr officials, employees and contractual workers were present on the occasion.
The programme that also created awareness on Swacchata was organised by Safety Section and Personnel department of Coke Oven and Coal Chemical department. An exhibition on Safety was inaugurated by ED (Works) Rajeev Sehgal. Winning entries of Poster making competition by employees, PRW’s and their family members on such topics as Gas safety, Behavioural Safety, escape route and the COIVD 19 pandemic were exhibited. Two models by QC team Shourya of CO CCD on Chain conveyor and Cold Coke loading were also exhibited. The Shourya team is led by Chetan Futane, DM (CO CCD), P Shashikant, DGM (CO CCD) and Rakesh Joshi, GM (CO CCD). A training manual on ‘Heating & Regulation and revised SoPs was launched on the occasion. A Charkha made out of waste and Gandhiji’s iconic glasses titled ‘Swacch Bharat’ were also on display.
A Nukkad natak titled ‘Kawach’ on the theme of Suraksha and Swachhata was performed by Rajesh Kumar, Thaneshwar Prasad Thakur, Lal Bahadur Chandra, Jagjeevan Sinha, Omveer Karan, Hemraj and Santosh Goswami.
