Safety Awareness Week held at BSP Telcomm Department

Bhilai, Feb 27: Safety awareness week is being organised in SAIL-BSP’s TelcommDepartment currently. The Safety week was inaugurated on February 25, 2021. A Shankar from Power Systems department was the Chief Guest at the inaugural function. KC Agarwal from Safety Engineering Department was the guest of honour. The programme was presided over by Shri Prakash, GM (Telecomm).
Safety Flag was hoisted by the guests followed by lamp lighting. S Bhattacharya, DSO (Telecomm) read out Safety related activities in the department through an Annual report for 2020-21. A Shankar in his inaugural address said SAIL-BSP that is committed to safety, has been imparting regular training and creating awareness through Roko-Toko Abbhiyaan. He lauded the efforts of Telecomm department for its positive work culture and urged employees to work in a safe and secure manner.
KC Agarwal said the reach of Telecomm department through its telephone lines is comprehensive throughout the Plant. He urged employees of Telecomm department to work safely in hazardous areas and ensure that all ‘Near Miss’ cases are reported.
Shri Prakash, GM (Telecomm) in his address stated that Telecomm department played a vital role in functioning of Bhilai Steel Plant during the COVID crisis and Lockdown period. Fourteen employees were felicitated as Corona warriors for their special efforts on Republic Day by PK Sarkar, CGM (Electrical). The programme was compered by Mukhlal Verma while the Vote of Thanks was proposed by HR Sirmour, DGM (Telecomm).
