Retired DSP Praveer Chandra Tiwari passes away

Bhilai, Oct 03: Retired DSP Praveer Chandra Tiwari left for heavenly abode at the age of 62 years on Sunday. He superannuated from the services of Chhattisgarh Police three months ago. Last rites were performed at Ramnagar Muktidham. His eldest son, who is an advocate in High Court, conducted the last rituals.
A condolence meeting was organised in Muktidham during which the dignitaries of the city paid their last tributes to him. Members of Hare Krishna Movement, Akshaya Patra gave heartfelt tributes to Lord Krishna’s devotee Late Praveer Chandra Tiwari.
Tiwari’s death was very shocking for the entire police department. He remained healthy throughout his life and had even visited Netaji Subhash Chand Bose Police Training School, Chandkhuri on Thursday for conducting a training session.
On his journey back to Bhilai, he started feeling uneasy. He was rushed to Hi-Tech Hospital Smriti Nagar where all the necessary tests were done. It was found that he had suffered brain stroke.
Considering his deteriorating health condition, he was shifted to Ramakrishna Care Hospital in Raipur where he breathed last on Sunday morning.
Praveer Chandra Tiwari was the eldest son of Girja Prasad Tiwari, a renowned farmer of village Semra of Raipur district. He remained posted in Durg District for long period and had settled at Smriti Nagar.
He is survived by two sons – Akash and Vinayak Tiwari, both are lawyers. He retired from the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police (Crime Durg) on June 30. He had also served in UNO operations in Bosnia for a year.
He was known for Smart Policing in the department. He was a recipient of President’s Distinguished Meritorious Service Medal and President’s Police Medal. He had joined the department as Sub-Inspector of 1982-83 batch. Dr Sanjeev Shukla, Director of Netaji Subhash Chand Bose Police Training Academy, UBS Chauhan, Rajat Sharma, Balram Hirwani, Sanjay Sharma, Nasir Bati, retired Inspector General of Police PN Tiwari, STF Commandant Vijay Pandey, Vishwas Chandrakar, Ajit Yadav, Kaushalendra Patel, Shaukat Ali, Navin Shankar Choubey, Shyam Sundar Sharma, Aditya Sharma, Rakesh Kumar Joshi, Rajiv Chaubey, Dr Sudhir Gangey, HN Dubey, Suresh Kumar Sen, Sanjay Pundhir, Ravi Rai, Dilip Sisodia, Bhavesh Sao, Jagdish Chand Mishra, Suresh Dhingani, Dilip Rathore, Deepak Dubey, Shailesh Shah, Advocate Suresh Sharma, Pradeep Mishra, Shravan Mishra, Ajay Shukla and other senior police officers and dignitaries of the city attended his funeral.
RP Sharma, the patron of Chhattisgarh State Retired Police Officers Association, paid heartfelt tributes and expressed condolences. Special DG RK Vij also mourned his death and said that he has worked with Tiwari for a long time in Durg Range.
He was a hardworking and committed officer. Vij described him as a good officer of the police department. Vij said, “I can’t believe that Praveer Chand Tiwari has passed away. We had met only on Thursday and had a long discussion. His death is a personal loss for me”.
IPS Prakhar Pandey, ML Kotwani, Rajesh Agarwal and Korba Superintendent of Police Bhojram Patel have also paid tributes and expressed their condolences. Senior Journalist Arvind Singh, New Press Club of Bhilai Nagar President Bhavana Pandey, Senior Vice President Sudhir Singh, former General Secretary Alok Tiwari have also condoled the death of Praveer Chandra Tiwari.
