PWD Secretary inspects flyover construction sites on NH

Bhilai, Sep 23: Durg District’s in-charge Secretary and PWD Secretary Siddharth Komal Pardesi inspected the flyover construction sites on National Highway between Kumhari to Nehru Nagar toll plaza in Durg district on Thursday.
On the way, Pardesi stopped at six to seven important places and gave instructions related to road and traffic. He instructed the officials to get the potholes repaired immediately on the entire stretch of the road. He said that the potholes are the prime cause of accidents and obstructs the traffic. He added that if the service road is obstruction free, smooth traffic movement can be ensured. He instructed to remove the block stones from the road and create diversions wherever it is possible. In relation to the Kumhari overbridge, Pardesi said that the work must be completed within the time frame as it is a very important road and thousands of people commute on this road every day. He instructed to complete the construction work within the stipulated time frame and asked the officials of NH Division for daily monitoring. He said that the first priority is to streamline the traffic movement on this route and for this action should be taken in coordination with the traffic police. Giving information in this regard, Collector Dr Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure said that the officials of NH have been repeatedly instructed to complete the construction work within time limit. Whatever cooperation is possible from the administrative level, that cooperation is being extended to them.
There was very slow progress over the repair of service road. Instructions were given to increase labour for this task. The agency has increased the workforce. Along with this, an appeal has been made to the people to follow the diverted route. Many people are following the diverted routes. Signals have also been installed for the diverted route and publicity has also been done in this regard.
