Pitru Paksha concludes with Amavasya Tarpan

Pitru Paksha, the special fortnight dedicated to the deceased ancestors concluded with Pitru Moksha Amavasya Tarpan on Wednesday. Gayatri Pariwar had made arrangements of free tarpan shradh at Gayatri Shaktipeeth Sector-6, Shiv Gayatri Temple Risali Sector, Bhagwati Sansthan Gayatri Pragyapeeth Ramnagar, Gayatri Sadhana Kendra Risali Basti, Gayatri Pragyapeeth Camp-2, Gayatri Pragya Mandal Hudco, Khursipar, Umda Road, Bhilai-3, Kohka, Kurud Housing Board and all Gayatri Mandirs and Pragya Sansthans under the supervision of Sub Zone Coordinator SP Singh and Gayatri Shaktipeeth Managing Trustee Vasudev Sharma. Collective Shradh Tarpan and Pind Daan rituals were conducted. About 500 people, including men and women, participated in Shradh-Tarpan and Pind Daan and offered Jalanjali to their ancestors.
Gayatri Pariwar member Mohan Umre said that the soul doesn’t die after death of the body as it is immortal, imperishable and eternal. According to ancient Hindu scriptures, during the Pitru Paksha, Yama deity frees the souls for 15 days and they reach their families in a subtle form and accept the food and water given with respect. On Pitru Moksha Amavasya, the ancestors return back and bless their families. On the occasion of Sarva Pitru Moksha Amavasya, in addition to the ancestors, offerings were made to the departed great personalities, saints, martyrs, people who died in natural calamities. People were urged to plant fruitful and shady trees in the memory of their ancestors.
