Peace committee meeting held in view of the festival of Navaratri

Bhilai, Oct 07: The auspicious festival of Navratri began on Thursday. In order to celebrate the festival of Durga Utsav with gaiety and to ensure that the guidelines issued by the administration are followed, a meeting of the Peace Committee was organised at the BMC auditorium under the chair of Bhilai Commissioner Prakash Surwe. In the meeting, SDM Jyoti Patel apprised the Durga Utsav committees in detail about the guideline issued by the district administration. Suggestions were sought from the committees. Several committees put forth their views. The committees were appealed not to obstruct traffic during Durga Utsav, follow the Corona guidelines and follow the guidelines issued by the district administration. It was also appealed to the committees that there should be a system of volunteers for all these. During this, suggestions were also taken from the committees regarding Dussehra festival. The committees drew attention to cleaning the ponds for immersion process. CSP Chhawni Kaushalendra Dev Patel gave detailed information about the sound amplifier limit and appealed to celebrate the festival in an amicable manner, while Bhilai Nagar CSP Rakesh Joshi appealed to make necessary arrangements for security and vehicle parking. Deputy Commissioner Sunil Agrahari informed the committees that the Maa Bamleshwari’s padyatra and fair, Meena Bazar has been postponed by the Rajnandgaon district administration in view of the infection of Covid-19, so the information must reach the devotees through the committees so as to prevent chaos. Risali Corporation Commissioner Ashish Devangan, DSP Vishwas Chandrakar, Zone’s Assistant Revenue Officer and Zone Health Officer, representatives of Durga Utsav Committee, representatives of Dussehra Committee, representatives of Gurdwara, Masjid and Church were present in the meeting.
