Operators of ‘Mahadev 465’ branch brought to Durg

Branch head had direct contact with Mahadev Book Kingpin

Bhilai, Nov 23: Durg Police have brought the ten operators of Mahadev Book Branch – 465 to Durg from Seoni. During preliminary interrogation, they have made significant revelations. The head of this branch was in direct contact with the Mahadev Book Kingpin Saurabh Chandrakar. He had paid Rs 6 lakhs to get this branch and was getting 8% share in the bets. Police have recovered betting records worth lakhs from the accused. 03 nos laptops, 16 nos mobiles and 13 nos ATM cards were recovered from the accused. Hundreds of mobile numbers linked to the Mahadev app have been exposed. Police have once again disclosed online cricket betting at international level. The joint team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit and Supela Police Station is conducting micro analysis of the bank accounts and mobile numbers.

While addressing media persons here at Police Command and Control Centre in Sector 6, SP Dr Abhishek Pallava informed that a joint team of ACCU and Supela Police Station led by Inspector Santosh Mishra (I/c ACCU) and Inspector Durgesh Sharma (SHO, Supela) had earlier busted some branches of Mahadev Book in the district. On the basis of the information provided by the accused, different teams of Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit were sent to other states of the country. In this sequel, Police received a tip off regarding some people of Durg-Bhilai who were operating Mahadev Book Branch from a house in Seoni area of Madhya Pradesh. Acting on this tip off, Police team conducted a raid on Nov 21 at Seoni in Madhya Pradesh. Ten persons were arrested while operating a branch of online Mahadev Book cricket betting. Laptops, mobiles, ATM cards, accounts register etc were seized from them. The accused disclosed that their branch was named as ‘Mahadev 464’. Further legal action against the accused is being taken by Supela Police Station.

The arrested accused are Niraj Gupta (32) son of Om Prakesh Gupta of Fauji Nagar, Housing Board, Jamul; Gajendra Nishad (30) son of Duryodhan Nishad a resident of Nankatti, Nandini PS area; Aniket Kurre (21) son of Ajay Kurre a resident of Korba; Neelmani (26) son of Chintaram Devdas a resident of Khairagarh; Nehal Singh Rajput (23) son of Rajesh Rajput a resident of Seoni Madhya Pradesh; Altaf Raja (19) son of Late Abdul Qayyum a resident of Korba; Himanshu Singh (21) son of Anil Kumar a resident of SFCL Colony,  Korba; Shashank Chandra (21) son of Ramcharan Chandra a resident of Korba; Yogesh Yadav (24) son of Baijnath Yadav a resident of Korba and Vivek Singh (20) son of Dakeshwar Singh a resident of Korba.

Sub Inspector Pramod Srivastava, ASI Dinesh Singh, Head Constable Bharat Yadav from Supela Police Station, ASI Ajay Singh, Constable Rajendra Yadav, Ajay Kumar and Lakhbir from PS Chhawani; Constable G Samuel and Amit Singh from Police Station Jamul; Constable Harsh Dewangan from Khursipar Police Station and Head Constable Chandrashekhar Banjeer, Constable Javed Khan and Pradeep Yadav from ACCU played vital role in arresting the accused.

Mahadev, Reddy Anna and BBB branches busted in Bhopal

Continuing the surgical strike against the people involved in online cricket betting, Durg Police conducted raids in Paras Urban Arera Colony in Bhopal and arrested 18 persons who were operating three different branches of online betting apps. Most of the arrested accused are from Durg – Bhilai, Raipur and other cities of Chhattisgarh. They were operating branches of Mahadev Book, Reddy Anna and Bet Bhai Book (BBB). Four laptops and 21 mobile phones were seized from eight persons of the First Branch while eight Laptops and 20 mobiles were seized from 10 persons who were operating the Second and Third Branch. The accused are being brought to Durg for further legal action.

The operators of the Mahadev Book branch are identified as Ravi Dewangan (21) son of Bahara Ram Dewangan a resident Kailash Nagar, Birgaon, Raipur; Rohit Sahu (25) son of Satyendra Sahu a resident of Subhash Chowk Camp 01 Bhilai; Deepil Saini son of Shridhar Prasad a resident of Satna (Madhya Pradesh); Devendra Yadav (25) son of Purushottam Yadav a resident of Daupara Mungeli; Pappu Verma (20) son of Sunil Verma a resident of Urla, Raipur; Ravikant Prasad (30) son of Bhagirathi Prasad a resident of Radhika Nagar, Urla, Raipur; Akshay Arnold (21) son of Roshan Arnold a resident of Sant Ravidas Nagar Camp 2 Bhilai and Roshan Kumar (20) son of Ranjit Das a resident of Acholi Market Urla Raipur.

The arrested accused of Reddy Anna and BBB are identified as Love Preet Singh (23) son of Surjeet Singh a resident of Zone 3, Khursipar, Durg; Vikas Shah (18) son of Shivnath Shah a resident of Zone 02, Khursipar; Anil Lukund alias Sunny (32) son of Ambrus Lukund a resident of Ramnagar, Supela; Shubham Sahu (25) son of Santosh Sahu a resident of Koni, Bilaspur; Vivek Singh Netam (24) son of Devi Singh a resident of Sonari District, East Singhbhum, Jharkhand; Shrikant Deshmukh (32) son of Rajendra Deshmukh a resident of Ram Nagar, Bhilai; Salman Siddqui (27) son of Nasar Siddqui a resident of Pragati Nagar Risali; Ajay Paswan (25) son of Gulab Chand Paswan a resident of Vrinda Nagar, Chhawani; Sumit Bhowmik (21) son of Piyush Bhowmik a resident of Shakti Nagar, PS Mohan Nagar Durg; and Pinesh Sahu (30) son of Late Dhannu Ram Sahu a resident of Bhoinar, Latabod (Balod).
