Lockdown extended till May 31 in Durg

Bhilai, May 16: Durg District Collector has issued orders to increase the lockdown till May 31. Strict restrictions have been imposed on public movement and other activities. After imposing total lockdown, a significant decrease in the number of Covid cases has been recorded in the district but the danger of sudden increase still persists if crowd increases in public places.
On the other hand, it is necessary to give relaxations in certain commercial activities so that supply of essential commodities is ensured to the common people. At the same time, it is necessary to protect the interests of the small and medium traders. Considering all the factors, the district administration has decided to extend the lockdown till May 31 in larger interests of the common public.
According to the order issued on May 15, relaxations have been provided to various commercial activities. There will be total lockdown on Sundays. The vehicle repair / puncture repair shops could operate during 11:00 hrs to 17:00 hrs from Monday to Saturday.
Fruits, vegetables, egg, meat, fish, poultry and flour mills can operate during 06:00 hrs to 11:00 hrs from Mondays to Saturdays. The gold merchants, readymade merchandise, utensils, foot wear, cosmetics and gift items, stationery shops, laundry services, packaging material shops would operate during 11:00 hrs to 17:00 hrs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Grains, Groceries, daily needs, disposables, electronics and electrical (including mobile shops and accessories shops), flower shops, auto pump, auto parts, milk / milk products, hardware, plumbic and building construction material shops will remain open during 11:00 hrs to 17:00 hrs on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
The shops keepers will have to ensure Covid appropriate behaviour at their establishments including mandatory use of masks and social distancing. In case of violation, the shops will be sealed for 30-days. The fruits, vegetables, poultry and groceries merchants have been asked to give priority to home delivery. The e-commerce companies including Amazon, Flipkart, etc will be able to provide delivery till 17:00 hrs.
The post offices, banking establishments and insurance sector offices will provide relaxation to the co-morbid / pregnant officers and employees from active work.
These offices could operate with 50% staff and must ensure token system, mask and social distancing. The restrictions from category of transactions have been removed. The bank branches having five or less than five employees can operate with full staff.
All the super markets / super bazaars, vegetable markets, malls, show rooms, marriage halls, swimming pools, clubs, cinema halls, saloons, beauty parlours, spa, gym and other public places will remain closed.
All the liquor shops will remain closed but will have permission of online delivery through online application. All the parks, resorts, religious places, cultural places and tourist spots will remain closed for common public.
All the government offices, except having special orders, will remain closed for general public but will remain operational with 50% staff on rotational basis for essential public works. Sub Registrar Office will operate only with necessary staff and with token / online system.
Schools and colleges will remain closed for students. Hostels will allow only the students who are appearing for exams. Except the exams permitted by government, all other coaching, teaching activities will remain closed.
All the processions, public meetings, demonstrations, social, religious and political activities will remain prohibited. Other exemptions will continue like previous lockdown.
