Lady and boyfriend arrested for loot

Bhilai, Feb 25: Police have arrested a 31-year-old lady and her boyfriend on charges of loot. They looted Rs 5000 from a biker in the rural area of Nandini Police Station. ASP (Rural) Praggya Meshram informed that on February 22, one Purohit Sahu lodged a complaint regarding a loot incidence which occurred with him near village Hingna.
Purohit was moving on his bike from Ahiwara towards his home in village Dhaba. On the way, a lady stopped him and requested for help stating that her vehicle had broken down. In the meanwhile, a youth entered into the scene and dragged Purohit towards a nearby nursery and started abusing him. The duo escaped after looting Rs 5000 from the victim.
On the victim’s complaint, an FIR was lodged under section 394 of IPC. Taking the matter into serious cognizance, Police investigation team was activated and soon some suspects were taken in custody. During interrogation, they confessed to have committed the crime.
The accused were identified as Dhal Singh Sahu (32) son of Hriday Ram Sahu a resident of Dabrapara, Old Bhilai and Sarita Nishad (31) daughter of Panchram Nishad a resident of Aklordeeh, Old Bhilai. Police recovered Rs 3700 cash from their possession. Police also seized their bike bearing registration number CG07-AK-6142, which was used in the crime.
