Four arrested for looting Rs 3 lakhs from groceries trader

Bhilai, Sep 27: Police have arrested four ruffians on charges of looting Rs 3 lakh cash from a groceries trader. SP Dr Abhishek Pallava informed that the victim Shivkumar Agrawal owns a groceries wholesale shop in New Khursipar. He cannot see but can identify the notes by touching them. Hence he sits on the cash counter of the shop daily and returns home with cash in his car with a driver. He was looted by three masked ruffians when he was getting off the car near home. The accused fled on a scooter.

Taking the matter into serious cognizance, the police team swung into action and collected footage of CCTVs. The looters were seen following the car right from the shop. Though the looters were not clearly identifiable in the footage, Police got the pics developed and processed after which the network of informers was activated. Soon the investigation team received a tip off that the persons seen in the footage were Tutu alias Rohit a resident of KLC, Khursipar and Aman Khan of Punjabi Mohalla, New Khursipar.

As both the suspects were missing from their residences, the ACCU team traced their mobile phone locations and managed to arrest Rohit, Aman and the third accused Dadhyaraj of Smriti Nagar. During interrogation, they disclosed that Aman’s father Ahmad Khan earlier worked as a driver for the victim Shivkumar Agrawal. He was removed from work due to his negligence and financial irregularities. It was Ahmad Khan who chalked out the plan to loot cash from his previous employer. Police recovered Rs 1.58 lakh from the possession of the accused.

The accused Ahmad Khan (48); Aman Khan (19), Dadhyaraj (19) and Rohit Paswan (19) have been booked under the provisions mentioned in section 394 of IPC.
