Elderly people have left the nature in ugly situation for the next generation: Dr Dubey

Bhilai, Mar 05:
Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH), New Delhi, is organizing an All India Project Competition for school children on the topic of ‘Nature in Danger – Care and Conservation’. An orientation programme was organised for the participating students at Swami Swaroopananda College by Durg-Bhilai Chapter of INTACH. During the orientation programme, Chemistry Expert Dr HN Dubey spoke about the dangers before the nature. He said that the elderly generation has disturbed the nature with their demeaning antics.
They have left an ugly and “difficult to live” nature for the next generation. The trend of increasing exploitation of the nature is continuing yet. The disastrous consequences are now visible now in some or the other way. Dr Hansa Shukla, Principal of Swami Swaroopananda College said that there are many unique traditions of preservation of nature in our culture. She expressed concern as these customs are being ignored by the young generation.
Subject expert and coordinator of INTACH local chapter, Dr DN Sharma stated that, “Constant exploitation of natural resources for their unlimited needs has broken the sanctity of balance between sun, water, ground, atmosphere and organisms. We are facing many threats like climate change, new diseases, soil erosion, lack of drinking water due to this imbalance”. He gave guidance to the participants to prepare a project report about their contributions in reducing these problems.
Akansha Verma and Arya Chaturvedi, students of DPS Bhilai, have emerged regional winners in National Painting and Essay Writing competition on the topic “Gandhi in 150” organized by INTACH last year.
Dr Hansa Shukla and Dr HN Dubey honoured the students with the trophies received from INTACH, New Delhi. Vote of thanks was proposed by co-convener Vidya Gupta. Kranti Solanki, Ravindra Khandelwal, Vishwas Tiwari and other members of INTACH were present in the programme.
