Drainage treatment also included in Narva Phase 2

Works will be conducted for conserving the ponds and wells, which are significant units for water conservation. The inlets of the ponds will be repaired so that more and more water can be stored. The old wells in the cities are getting dilapidated. Work will be done for conservation of these wells. Collector Dr Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure gave these instructions during the review meeting held on Tuesday.
Collector said that the inlets of the ponds used to be very wide due to which enough water reached the ponds and water remained available throughout the year. Collector directed the officials to repair these inlets. He further asked them to identify all the old wells in the city and get them renovated and repaired. Collector also reviewed the works being identified under Narva Phase 2. He said that this phase will have area treatment as well as drainage treatment and useful structures will be made for this. He said that the structures have been selected for drainage treatment and directed the officials to immediately start the construction works soon after approval of the proposals. Collector asked the officials of the Water Resources Department to conduct a survey and identify the canals for restoration where water is not reaching the tail end despite enough water. Work will be started on these projects as soon as the rain ends. Additional Collector Nupur Rashi Panna, District Panchayat CEO Sachchidanand Alok, Bhilai Corporation Commissioner Prakash Sarwe, Additional Collector BB Panchbhai, Assistant Collector Hemant Nandanwar and other officers were present in the meeting.
The issue of pollution in village Dhaur (Jamul) was also discussed in the meeting. There is a ACC cement plant next to Dhaur. Collector directed the officials of the Environment Board to visit the spot and conduct an investigation. He said that if any lapse is found in this regard, action should be taken as per rules.
Collector directed all the Corporation Commissioners and SDMs to conduct surprise inspections of AYUSH hospitals. He said that the officers should regularly monitor the hospitals and keep an eye on the facilities and services available here. He said that strict action would be taken if any negligence is found.
Export conclave will be organized in the district. Detailed information was given regarding the preparations for the event and its features. Collector said that more and more entrepreneurs should be informed about this conclave and work should be done in this direction so that the sessions could be more and more useful for the people who participate in the conclave.
Collector also reviewed the major construction works going on in the district and instructed to complete them with expected quality within the time limit. He was also instructed to pay attention to the patch work and to continuously monitor the roads.
