DMC MiC approves construction of Hockey Astro Turf
Bhilai, Sep 12: A meeting of the Mayor-in-Council of Durg Municipal Corporation was held on Monday at the Data Centre Auditorium of the Corporation. The meeting chaired by Mayor Dheeraj Bakliwal in the presence of Commissioner Prakash Surve and Speaker Rajesh Yadav, discussed the 13 point agenda and approved all the proposals. MiC members Abdul Gani, Rishabh Jain, Deepak Sahu, Sanjay Kohle, Jamuna Sahu, Bhola Mahobiya, Hameed Khokhar, Jayshree Joshi, Satyawati Verma, Anoop Chandaniya, Shankar Thakur, Mandeep Singh Bhatia, Deputy Commissioner Monendra Sahu, Executive Engineer Pramod Dubey, Executive Engineer SD Sharma, Assistant Engineer RK Jain, Assistant Engineer RK Palia, Health Officer Javed Ali, Assistant Building Officer Girish Dewan, RK Borkar, Assistant Market Officer Thansing Yadav and PA to Commissioner Shubham Goir were present.
The proposals that have been approved include free hold to the leased properties of the Corporation such as allotted residential, commercial buildings, flats, plots, shops etc on receipt of land ownership from the Revenue Department. Approval was also given for the construction of Hockey Astro turf for aspiring hockey players in the city. Also, C Mart will soon be opened in Ganjmandi complex of Durg city for the sale of organic products. Proposals were also passed for other development works such as construction of drain line, cultural building etc. Here it needs a mention that on April 22, the Chief Minister during his visit had announced for the construction of wholesale corridor, for this a proposal for site selection put forth before the MiC was passed. A proposal has to be sent to the government for installation of solar high masks in various places of the city. A new proposal for the change of place installation of the statue of martyr Veer Narayan Singh near the newly constructed water tank near Bus Stand.
