‘Cong Govt anti-poor and anti-farmer’

Masturi, Dec 09:
“In the last financial year 2020-21, the farmers had sold paddy in their gunny bags, for which they were promised to be paid Rs 15 per gunny bag but the Congress government has not given the above amount to the farmers till date, whereas the farmers had bought gunny bags from the open market for Rs 25, 30.  This year also, instead of buying paddy from November 1, the purchase started on December 1 and neither gunny bags nor tokens are being given to the farmers as per rules.  The irony is that the registration of some farmers has not been done yet and in the name of Girdavari, the acreage of the farmers has been reduced, due to which the farmers are wandering to sell their own paddy which they have produced after hard labour.  In Punjab  more paddy is purchased than Chhattisgarh, but there is no shortage of gunny bags and here the Congress government of Chhattisgarh instead of arranging gunny bags in time, blames the central government for not supplying gunny bags from there,” said Masturi MLA Dr.  Krishnamurti Bandhi while addressing a press conference in Masturi.
While addressing the press conference, he fiercely targeted the Congress government on various issues of farmers, fake agricultural medicines, pesticides, black marketing of chemical fertilizers, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.  He has demanded that farmers should be given a lump sum support price of Rs 2500 for paddy and also the arrears of the previous year should be given.  The wrath of ‘Maho’ was such that the farmers had to spray insecticides 3 to 4 times in the same field and in the end it was found that the pesticides which the farmers are buying are fake and there was no one to help the farmers on the spot. The inaction of the Agriculture Department is commendable.  In the area’s village Kokdi and village Chilhanti, people have not been able to harvest the crops in the fields, such farmers should be figured out and compensated, otherwise the farmers will be ruined.
Dr.Bandhi added that to allot home for homeless which is known as Prime Minister Awas Yojna, this government is doing low-level politics, government is making an excuse for not giving 40 percent of its share, and deprived the needy poor of basic needs like housing.  He said that the Panchayat Minister TS Singhdev has given a statement that he cannot give 10 thousand crore rupees for the Prime Minister Awas Yojna. Bandhi questioned that whether the state government has run out of budget. He asked the farmers to submit their problems with personal details and BJP Kissan Morcha will be meeting SDM on December 11 to submit a memorandum highlighting the problems of farmers.
