BSP records superior performance in April -September 2021 in several areas

Bhilai, Oct 07: SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant has recorded superior performance in April to September performances in several areas, including RMP 3, BF 8, SMS 3, Plate Mill, URM and BRM in the first six months of current fiscal year 2021-22.
The Plant recorded highest ever April-Sept loading of 12,04,747 Tonnes (T) of steel for Direct despatch in April-Sept 21 as against previous best of 09,74,936 in April-Sept 2019-20. During April to September 2021, loading of 22,51,281 T Saleable steel was done surpassing previous record of loading of 22,33,682 Saleable steel in 2013-14.
RMP 3 recorded its best April to September production of 01,84,367 T breaking previous best record of 01,28,411 T in 2020-21. Blast Furnace 8 recorded its best April to September Hot Metal production of 12,19,823 T as against previous best of 09,82,911 T in April-Sept 2020.
Total Cast Steel Production of 12,44,060 T by Modex unit, SMS 3 in April-Sept period of current fiscal year 2021-22 has been the best for any April to September period, surpassing previous best of 11,84,660 T in April-Sept 20-21. Total Cast Steel Production by SMS 3 included best ever Cast Billet Production of 07,64,710 T and best Cast Bloom Production of 04,79,349 T in April-Sept period of current fiscal year 2021-22 as against previous best of 5,14,000 T and 03,72,799 T, respectively in April-Sept 20. During April to September 2021, 59,779 T Boiler plates were produced by Plate Mill, breaking the previous record of 55,545 T in 2018-19.
Finished Rail Production of 03,36,255 T by Universal Rail Mill in April-Sept period of current fiscal year 2021-22 has been the best for any April to September period, surpassing previous best of 3,25,253 T.
Prime Rail Production of 03,02,182 T by Modex Unit Universal Rail Mill in April-Sept period of current fiscal year 2021-22 has been the best for any April to September period, surpassing previous best of 02,95,228 T in April-Sept 20-21. URM that rolls out the world’s longest 130 metre rail in single piece has been rolling out a new R260 Grade of rails in 60E1 profile for Indian Railways in the current fiscal year.
Another Modex Unit, Bar & Rod Mill also recorded best April to September production of 03,27,904 T in April-Sept period of current fiscal year 2021-22, surpassing previous best of 01,25,176 T in April-Sept 20-21.
Anirban Dasgupta, Director I/c (BSP) congratulated the BSP collective for their superior performance and stated that he has full faith that more such production records will be created in the future by the workforce.
