Bootlegger arrested

Police have arrested a bootlegger and recovered 32 quarters of liquor from his possession. It needs to be mentioned here that Durg Police is conducting a special drive against the illegal trade and smuggling of liquor and other narcotics. Strict vigil is being maintained on the suspects and the network of informers has also been activated for the purpose. ASP (Rural) PraggyaMeshram informed that in this sequel, Anda Police Station SHO Inspector Shruti Singh received a tip off regarding illegal smuggling of liquor. Police team swung into action and the suspect was rounded up near Khursipar Turning in village Nikumbh. On searching, Police recovered 32 quarters if English liquor from his possession. Police seized the liquor worth Rs 3840 from the possession of the accused identified as DhanukDheemar (55) son of Late BudhiyarDhimar a resident of village NikumbhBhatapara, PS Anda. He has been booked under the provisions mentioned in section 34 (2) of Excise Act.
