BMC frees illegal occupation near electricity office in Housing Board area

Bhilai, Sep 06: BMC is continuously taking action against those who are involved in illegal occupation or have encroached government land under Corporation limits. In this sequel, the Revenue Department team of the Corporation demolished illegal construction at two different sites near Kurud Electricity Office and Andhra School in Zone 02 Vaishali Nagar. Here it could be recollected that to crack down on encroachment and illegal constructions in the corporation area, the Municipal Commissioner Rituraj Raghuvanshi has constituted a special squad comprising of officers/employees of various departments. The squad is keeping an eye on people indulging in such acts and taking prompt action on any complaint. Zone 02 Assistant Revenue Officer Anil Meshram said that the demolition proceedings were carried out on the instructions of Vaishali Nagar Zone Commissioner Pooja Pillai. In Ward 17 Steel Nagar behind the Andhra School, a person was obstructing the drain line by illegal construction on the drain. On having received the complaint earlier also, the team of the Zone had reached the spot and stopped the construction work, but on getting information about reconstruction, the team of Revenue Department took demolition action and freed the drain so that there would be no obstruction in the drainage. Similarly, illegal construction was being done by one Suresh on the government land adjoining the electricity office of the Housing Board area. The team demolished the construction and also warned not to attempt any construction again or they might face legal action. The entire demolition work was carried out in the presence of employees including Madan Tiwari, HS Bhatti, Ramratan Tandon, Guptanand Tiwari, Jawahar Chandrakar, Arun Singh, Kanhaiya, Chaitram, Khemlal, Lalu from the revenue department.
