Three arrested for murder

Bhilai, Jun 30: With the arrest of three persons, police claimed to have solved the blind murder incidence of a notorious offender who was found lying dead near Urla Liquor Shop on Tuesday. Owing to some old rivalry, the accused stabbed him to death. Police have booked the three accused under the provisions mentioned in section 302, 34 of IPC.
Addressing media persons on Wednesday, CSP (Durg) Vivek Shukla informed that Durg City Kotwali received a complaint on June 29 morning regarding missing of one Bharadwaj alias Chappu Thakur of Baghera. Later, the body of Chappu Thakur was found lying on the roadside on Urla Road.
Police team conducted crime scene investigation and found that there were 7-8 fatal wounds on the abdomen and other parts of the body. It was a clear case of murder in which the accused used some sharp weapon to inflict fatal injuries.
Taking the matter into serious cognizance, different teams were formed for exploring various angles. The deceased was a listed offender and was accused in a murder case. The incident appeared to be an outcome of some old rivalry. Three criminal cases were registered against him at Durg City Kotwali in the recent past.
During investigation, police rounded up three suspects and quizzed them strictly. During sustained interrogation, they confessed to have committed the crime. The accused have been identified as Taran Soni alias Chotu (23) of Baghera; Pawan Patel (23) of Patelpara, Baghera and Mukesh Sahu (27) of Patelpara, Baghera. The accused were produced before the court and have been sent to jail on judicial remand.
SI Kirendra Singh, HC Ramesh Sharma, Rajesh Dewangan, Ashok Sahu, Constables Alauddin, Narendra Sahare, Ajay Vishwakarma, Manish Agnihotri, Hiraman Sahu, Om Prakash Deshmukh and others played vital role in solving the case.
