Central Chronicle News
Bhilai, Dec 05: On Sunday, a large number of junior officers (JOs) of 2008 and 2010 batches gathered in OA Building Pragati Bhawan for discussing the issue of pay anomaly. There was huge resentment among the officers as the long pending issue is yet to be resolved.
Considering the presence of the large number of aggrieved officers, an urgent meeting was organized at Engineers Bhawan, Civic Center, Bhilai. SEFI Chairman and BSP-OA President Narendra Kumar Banchore had recently visited SAIL Corporate Office in New Delhi and met the SAIL Chairperson. Sharing details of his visit, Banchhor said that the SAIL Chairman has been detailed about the present status of pay anomaly.
He said that the solutions suggested by SEFI as well as the recommendation of the committee are being analysed by the SAIL Management for resolving the issue amicably. In the next few days, the proper solution will be done by the SAIL management.
In the meeting, the officers said that they are suffering huge fiscal loss from the promoted year 2008 and 2010. Aggrieved officers said that they are working in the positions of Manager and Senior Manager in different departments for the last 10 to 12 years and are working responsibly for the plant.
They are leaving no stone unturned to make the SAIL and BSP achieve its production targets. In such a situation, the management should consider this matter seriously and move towards quick resolution.
In the past also, this issue has been raised several times by SEFI and BSP-OA. It has been brought to the notice of the Officers’ Association and in support of this demand, ‘Walk for Support’ was organized from Boria Gate to Ispat Bhawan on November 03, 2021 which saw enthusiastic participation of officers.
They also participated in the protest on November 04, 2021 by switching off their mobile sim cards issued by the company. If the issue is not resolved soon, in the coming days, the officers under the banner of OA will resort to aggressive agitation. SEFI Chairman and OA President Narendra Kumar Banchore, OA General Secretary Parvinder Singh, and a large number of officers of 2008 and 2010 batch were present.
