Over 15 commercial vehicles seized from Bhilai Steel Plant

Bhilai, Sep 02: Over 15 commercial vehicles including trucks and earthmovers were seized from the Bhilai Steel Plant premises for violation of the norms of Motor Vehicle Act. These vehicles were plying within the BSP territory for years and lacked the MV Act mandatory compliances of fitness, etc.
The administration had also received several complaints in this regard. It needs to be mentioned here that on Wednesday, the flying squad of Regional Transport Office had taken action against the private cars which were being operated as taxies for conveyance of BSP executives.
On Thursday, a joint team of the Transport Department (RTO) and District Police conducted checking drive of heavy vehicles and earth movers inside the compound of Bhilai Steel Plant. They examined the documents of the vehicles and seized almost 15 vehicles.
The vehicles have been brought to Bhilai Nagar Kotwali. RTO officers from Raipur and Durg were involved in this checking drive. The Durg Police Team was led by ASP (City) Sanjay Dhruw.
