PWD Supdt Engineer inspects Pendra-Basantpur under-construction road

Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, Aug 02: After GPM district has been curved out state government has launched host of development works which include construction of roads also. But the roads under construction are sub-standard and have started peeling off with the first rains. The two much awaited road under construction by PWD GPM Division is 10 km by-pass from Bhandi to Basantpur with a cost of Rs 34 crore and Pendra-Basantpur main road at a cost of Rs 17 crore. Both these roads have started showing their colour and got washed off with the first rain this season. After complaint of corruption, SE Bilaspur Zone Sant formed an investigation team and he himself investigated both the roads. He accepted irregularities in construction and scolded SDO for alleged negligence. While in-charge minister Jai Singh Agrawal too expressing displeasure on this issue said that he would himself conduct inspection next time.
