Teacher’s Day celebration at MGM School

Bhilai, Sep 05: Teacher’s Day was celebrated on September 04, 2021 at MGM Senior Secondary School, Sector-6. The revered Chief Guest for the occasion was Raj Kumar Sharma, a renowned educationist and former Principal of Shri Shankaracharya Vidyalaya, Hudco. The other distinguished guests who graced the programme were the Vice President of the School, Very Rev Thomas Ramban, Rev Fr Shinu Cherian Assistant Vicar, Rajan George Correspondent, Church and School Managing Committee Members, Prof Dr BD Tharakan Principal MGM School, Anil Samuel Trustee, KT Paulose Secretary of the church, and all the teaching and non-teaching staff. The function commenced with the presentation of floral tokens to the Chief Guest and other dignitaries. This was followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and garlanding of the portrait of Dr S Radhakrishnan. On this auspicious day, Organic Garden was inaugurated by the Chief Guest with the dignitaries. In her welcome speech, Mary Sajan greeted the elite gathering and expressed her sincere gratitude to each and every one present. The Principal of the School Prof Dr BD Tharakan accorded a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, the esteemed dignitaries, other invitees and the staff of the school. He reiterated the role of a teacher and said that a teacher must exhibit his skills for a multi tasked service towards humanity during this pandemic. We need to ensure clarity and have system management to share our knowledge with students. The Chief Guest in his address expressed his delight at being present on this occasion. He extended his greetings to the audience and talked about the challenges faced by the teachers in the era of technology and devices. In his speech he stressed on the different activities and skilled programs to be conducted in the class and said we should understand the students and introspect with ourselves to use new ways to teach in the class. We must be sure that students accept and grasp the content. He concluded by extending his good wishes to the school in all future endeavours. To mark this auspicious occasion, a self-written poem and songs were presented by the teachers. In his address, the Vice President Very Rev Thomas Ramban expressed his pleasure at being present on the occasion and said that Teacher’s Day is symbolic of Dr S. Radhakrishnan’s toil and service to the nation. He asked us to be inspirators in shaping children as ideal citizens of India. The Chief Guest was presented a memento as a token of respect.
Tokens of appreciation were presented to the staff members. The Vote of thanks proposed by Annie Thomas followed by the National Anthem brought this memorable day to an end.
