Success story of four girls who stayed in Tribal Hostel for studies

Four girls have succeeded in getting recruited as Assistant Professors after studying in the hostel run by the Tribal Development Department in Durg city. They have achieved success in subjects like Geography, Chemistry and Botany. These girls informed that they are from such remote villages where they had not even heard about competitive exams. Government service was nothing else than school teachers for them. But when they came to the hostel run by the Tribal Development Department, they came to know about the career opportunities. They realised that an infinite sky of possibilities was open for them. Thereafter they started working hard to achieve success in life and making it worth their stay away from home. They did a group discussion and told the superintendent Anjali Bandhe that they need regular guidance regarding career. She responded positively and arranged the same to make their dream come true, said Dhanwantri of village Pendri (Balod), Bhavna Kanwar of village Jevartala (Balod), Ranjita Thakur of village Kotegaon (Gunderdehi) and Yamini Kunjam of village Badbhum (Balod) after getting selected as Assistant Professors.
They informed that a nice group of girls was formed in the hostel. Some of them were preparing for PSC to get recruited in administrative services while some others were preparing for bank exams. Some others were interested in teaching and they started preparing for Assistant Professor exam. A strong preparation base for appearing in the competitive exams was built in the hostel which helped them to achieve success.
Assistant Commissioner of Tribal Development Department, Priyamvada Ramteke informed that experts were invited regularly for career guidance. With this, the girl students got information about choosing their career and the efforts to be made in that direction. They department is highly excited with the selection of girls in government services. Ramteke further informed that apart from other facilities, the library here is also very rich and it has been prepared with the view of assisting the candidates to appear in the competitive examinations.
A successful candidate Dhanwantri informed that while residing in Government Post Matric Scheduled Tribe Girls Hostel in Durg, she completed her studies in Master of Arts and now she has been recruited as Assistant Professor (Geography) in the examination of the year 2019 conducted by Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission. She said that she completed her studies while living in a homely family environment in the girls’ hostel run by the Tribal and Scheduled Castes Development Department. The department provided guidance for the preparation of many competitive examinations. It was due to this environment that she achieved success.
Bhawna Kanwar informed that she was not able to get further education in Balod after getting primary and secondary education. After being inspired by her mother, she moved to the hostel and completed MA. Now she has been selected in the post of Assistant Professor (Geography). She informed that she desired for government service after completing higher education.
In this sequence, according to the guidance provided by the department, she also continued to prepare for the competitive examinations. She realized that the Tribal and Scheduled Castes Development Department extended full cooperation in providing all kinds of facilities to the students in the hostel and guiding them according to their talent.
Ranjeeta Thakur informed that she completed MSc while staying in Government Post Matric Scheduled Tribe Girls Hostel Durg and now she has been selected for the post of Assistant Professor (Chemistry) through the examination conducted by Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission in the year 2019. The atmosphere of competition in the hostel encourages the students to participate in the competitive examination.
Yamini Kunjam informed that while living in District Balod Government Post Matric, Scheduled Tribe Girls Hostel Durg, she completed MSc and got selected to the post of Assistant Professor (Botany). She stated that she I could not have thought to get higher education in a remote area. She moved to the hostel after getting inspired by her father.
The officers and staff of the Tribal Development Department, Durg ensured a nice friendly environment in the hostel and with the constant guidance and inspiration from the employees, she appeared in the competitive examination of the Public Service Commission and got selected in the post of Assistant Professor.
