Mahaprabhu Shri Jagannath’s Rath Yatra celebrated

Bhilai, Jul 12: The 52nd Rath Yatra Festival-2021 of Mahaprabhu Shri Jagannath Swami ji was organized in Shri Jagannath Temple Sector-4, on Monday. Keeping in mind the Corona protocol, Rath Yatra was organized as per tradition in the premises of Shri Jagannath Temple, Sector-4 with limited attendance.
This year, under the Corona Protocol, arrangements have been made for Gudincha Mandap in the auditorium of the temple premises itself. Mahaprabhu Shree Jagannath Swami will give darshan to the devotees at Gudincha Mandap for 9 days of Rath Yatra. This morning the deities of Lord Shri Balabhadra, Mata Subhadra and Mahaprabhu Shri Jagannath were brought on a beautiful chariot made of wood.
This year, during the Rath Yatra, the Chhera-Panhera program in front of the chariot was performed by Virendra Satpathy, President of Jagannath Committee, who was present as the chief guest. It is to be known that in Puri this tradition is performed by the Maharaja of Puri. After Chhera-Panhera, a limited number of priests and committee members started pulling the chariot with the chant of ‘Jai Jagannath’.
The committee’s president Virendra Satpathy and general secretary Satyawan Nayak, along with the office bearers of the committee, Basant Pradhan, D Trinath, Anam Nahak, Brindavan Swain, Bhim Swain, Trinath Sahu, BC Biswal, Prakash Das, Kalu Behera, Niranjan Maharana, Ranjan Mohapatra , SC Patro, Kavi Biswal, Ramesh Kumar Nayak, Sudarshan Shanti, Santosh Dalai, Shankar Dalai were specially present to pull the chariot. This religious puja of Rath Yatra was performed with all the customs and rituals by the priest Pitwas Padhi and Pandit Nilachal Das and his team.
In making this holy festival of Rath Yatra a success, Jagannath Committee President Virendra Satpathy, General Secretary Satyawan Nayak, D Trinath, Brindavan Swain, BC Biswal, Bhim Swain, Basant Pradhan along with the office bearers of the committee, Sarvshree Anam Nahak, SC Patro, Kalu Behera, Trinath Sahu, Niranjan Maharana, Kailash Patro, Santosh Dalai, Prakash Swain, Ranjan Mohapatra, Ramesh Kumar Nayak, Seemanchal Behera, Sudarshan Shanti, Shankar Dalai, Prakash Das, Kavi Biswal made special contributions.
