Social workers honoured for promoting eye donation

Bhilai, Sep 10: 36th National Eye Donation Fortnight was celebrated in Durg under the aegis of District Health Committee. A special program was held in the District Hospital, Durg during which the ophthalmologists, eye assistant officers, class III, class IV employees and Nav Drishti Foundation office bearers were honoured for their appreciable working in the field of encouraging eye donation.
The active and dedicated office bearers and social workers were honoured. In this sequel, Dilip Thakur, the executive member of Jeevan Deep Samiti, was also honoured for his remarkable social services and creative works for the last several years.
On this occasion, Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr Gambhir Singh Thakur, Civil Surgeon cum Chief Hospital Superintendent Dr P Balkishore distributed the citations. In his address, Dr Thakur said that eye donation is the best donation. Donating the eye vision is incomparable.
