Settlement of Rs 2.13 crore in 920 cases in National Lok Adalat

Dhamtari, Sep 13: As per the directions of National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi (NALSA), the second National Lok Adalat of the year was organised on September 11 in the outer Court Kurud and Nagri including District Court Dhamtari under the guidance of District and Sessions Judge Sudhir Kumar.
This Lok Adalat was organized according to the guide line of Covid-19 through both virtual and physical means. Under this, out of the pending cases in the court, 143 cases of criminal cases, settlement of Rs 6000 in one case of electricity bill, Rs 16,700 in 21 cases of labour court, Rs 32.25 lakh in ten cases of Motor Accident Claims Authority, Family court nine cases, Rs 16 lakh 30 thousand 749 rupees in 16 cases of section 138 NI Act, Rs 34 lakh 77 thousand 870 rupees in 12 cases of civil, Two lakh one thousand 900 rupees in 168 cases of PT-Offence, settlement of 85 lakh 58 thousand 219 rupees was done after resolving 380 pending cases. Along with this, settlement of one crore 28 lakh 22 thousand 355 was done in 540 cases of prelitigation and revenue courts. In this way, in total 920 cases, a settlement of Rs.2 crore 13 lakh 80 thousand 574 was done. Judges, advocates, court staff and employees of the Legal Services Authority contributed to the successful organization of this Hybrid National Lok Adalat.
