CM unveils tallest statue of Shaheed-e-Azam


Bhilai, Jan 12: “A giant statue at par with the huge personality of Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh has been installed at here Sector 5. Observing the statue of the martyrs and recollecting their sacrifice has created emotions of pride”, said Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel while addressing the gathering at Sector 5 after unveiling the country’s tallest gunmetal statue of Sardar Bhagat Singh. Chief Minister also watched the Light and Sound Laser Show at the venue. On this occasion, he said that the entire freedom struggle was screened beautifully in this show. This show will inspire the youth of Bhilai.
CM further said that Sardar Bhagat Singh was ideologically very strong and he did not surrender before imperialist forces. He had smile on his face while making the supreme sacrifice for the country. Baghel further said that Sardar Bhagat Singh started writing articles at the age of sixteen. His writings at this age were very mature and displayed his ideological brilliance at such a young age. Martyred at the age of 23 years, Bhagat Singh was smiling when he was hanged. They fought against imperialist forces. With his ideological vigour, he shook the roots of the empire on which sun never sets.
On this occasion, MLA Devendra Yadav thanked the Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel for approving this beautiful concept and giving guidance for completing the task. He said that Urban Administration Minister Shiv Dahariya also made a big contribution in this project. Devendra said that earlier they used to conduct “Mujhme Hai Bhagat Singh” programme and today such a grand programme for this great personality is being organized. NSUI National President Neeraj Kundan also addressed the gathering. He said that Sardar Bhagat Singh razed the roots of imperialism with the power of his thoughts. MIC Member and the host Corporator Neeraj Pal also addressed the gathering.
Durg District’s Guardian Minister Mohammad Akbar and Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu were also present. They also congratulated the Bhilai Municipal Corporation team for creating history. It is worth mentioning that names of 1270 martyrs have also been inscribed in this park. These martyrs hail from Chhattisgarh and have made supreme sacrifice in lines of duty at different places in the country. In addition, the names of the Jheeram valley martyrs have also been mentioned.
