SDS submits memo to TI, demand arrest of corporator

Simga, Aug 31: Hundreds of men and women from Simga Dewangan Samaj (SDS) under leadership of state president Pradeep Dewangan submitted a memorandum to TI Simga Naresh Chouhan in view of an incident of misbehaviour and physical abuse and use of foul language by the BJP corporator Suryakant Tamrakar against a woman from Samaj and his immediate arrest. The woman has lodged a complaint in thana last on Aug 22 and so far no action has been taken against the accused, who is still absconding, the delegation alleged.
Citing about the incident, members from Dewangan Samaj informed that the corporators using indescent language and words against the victim, tried to misbehave with her many times going to her residence. It was on Aug 22 when she went to register protest at Cloth Shop near Bus Stand, at that time Suryakant Tamrakar and his colleague Tabu Dewangan reportedly misbehaved with her and had even beaten herself and her daughter. So based upon the complaint a case in thana, a case under section 294, 323, 323, 34, 506, 452, 354 has been filed against Suryakant Tamrakar and his colleague Tikesh alias Tabu Dewangan.
Out of the two, Tikesh Dewangan was arrested by the police and produced in the court and sent to jail on remand. It is learnt that the session court Bhatapara has refused bail request to Tikesh Deawngan and the main accused BJP corporator Suryakant Tamrakar after this incident is absconding.
Due to this there is great deal of resentment among members of Dewangan samaj in city and are demanding immediate arrest of Suryakant Tamrakar.
Among those who submitted memorandum included Paras Dewangan, state gen. secy; Ishwar Dewangan District President Bilaspur; Manohar Dewangan District secy. Raipur; Rekhram Dewangan V-P District Raipur; Kashiram Dewangan, Manoj Dewangan, Rajkumar Dewangan Alderman Simga, Ramkumar Dewangan Secretary Simga, Ashok Dewangan corporator and others were present.
