Two arrested for theft at electronics shop

Bhilai, Nov 14: Police have arrested two ruffians on charges of committing theft at an electronic goods shop in Durg. ASP (City) Sanjay Dhruw informed that considering the rising cases of thefts and burglaries, they were maintaining watch on the activities of suspects and criminal record holders. The network of informers was also activated for the purpose. In this sequel, police received a tip off regarding some suspects who were trying to sell mobile phones. Police team swung into action and the suspects were taken in custody. On interrogation, they confessed to have committed theft at Srigopal TV and Fridge Shop located in Indira Market. The accused are identified as Gajendra Kumar Vishwakarma (22) son of Prem Lal Vishwakarma a resident of Panchsheel Nagar Durg and Shankar Singh (23) son of Yashwant Singh a resident of Supela, Bhilai. Stolen booty worth Rs 1.09 lakh was recovered from them. They have been booked under the provisions mentioned in section 457, 380 of IPC.
