Satta-Patti bookies nabbed

Bhilai, Mar 18: Considering the increasing complaints of betting and gambling, Durg Police is conducting a special drive against such illegal activities. In this sequel, raids were conducted at two spots in Padmanabhpur Chowki area. Six accused were arrested while Rs 12120 cash was recovered from their possession.
The arrested accused worked on daily wages for the main bookie, who is presently at large. The cops led by CSP Vivek Shukla approached the bookies in civil dress and booked their bets on Satta-Patti.
The bookies later realised that they had received the bets from cops. In the raid conducted at Society Square Market in Borsi, police arrested Ved Prakash Soni (19) son of Sunil Soni a resident of Meenakshi nagar; Tikam Sahu (30) son of Ram sagar Sahu a resident of Borsi Basti and Salman Khan (32) son of Hameed Khan a resident of Sheopara, Borsi. All the three worked for the main bookie identified as Billu Bagdi a resident of Borsi.
Billu paid them Rs 300 daily wages for booking bets. Billu is presently at large and police are making efforts to trap him. In the second raid was conducted at Hanoda – Chandkhuri Road.
The accused arrested from this spot are Sangeet Sahu (20) son of Sunil Sahu a resident of Kasarideeh; Bhujbal Yadav (45) son of Sahdev Yadav a resident of Kanhakot, Utai; Rajkumar Bhatt (55) son of Dayaram Bhatt a resident of Vrinda Nagar Borsi; and Taiyyub Khan a resident of Kasarideeh, Durg.
