Police conducts ‘foot patrol’ to make its presence felt

Bhilai, Oct 24: In view of the festive season and increased footfall of people in markets and commercial areas, Senior Superintendent of Police (Durg) Badri Narayan Meena has instructed the Station House Officers of all the Police Stations to conduct foot patrol in their respective areas.
With the aim of making the police presence felt in the public places, the cops are conducting foot patrol in the morning and evening as well. Under the crime prevention exercise, they are visiting railway stations, bus stands, hotels, lodges, dhabas, lonely streets, outer colonies, residential areas, parks, stadiums, markets, etc.*
ASP (City) Sanjay Kumar Dhruw informed that in view the festive season, foot patrolling is being done by the cops across the twin-city. For crime prevention and control, strict vigil is being maintained on the activities of suspects and criminal record holders. Cops are focussing on criminals and suspects and their movement in crowded areas and markets with the aim of crime prevention.
Teams have been constituted by the SHOs of various police stations and they are making the women and citizens aware by sharing important information regarding crime. Police are conducting bike patrol, foot patrolling in uniform and civil dress.
Pink Patrol is also being conducted by women cops. People are being urged to immediately inform the police if they come across suspicious persons.
Intensive patrolling is being done by the Durg Police in the deserted streets, outer colonies, residential areas, parks, stadiums and markets. Gazetted officers are leading the morning and evening patrols.
