St Thomas College organises Marathon Race

Bhilai, Aug 29: St Thomas College Bhilai organized a 3 kilometer Short Marathon Race between staff and students under the title” Fitness ki Dose Aadha Ghanta Roz” in Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The Chief Guest of this program was NIS Athletics Coach Radhakrishnan Pillai.
First of all Principal of College Dr MG Roymon welcomed the chief guest and all the participants and said that within last two years due to COVID – 19 it is necessary for us to be physically fit. This Marathon is organized to achieve the above mentioned objective.
Chief Guest Radhakrishnan Pillai motivated all the participants by saying that all of you are shining like sunlight and to maintain this level of fitness you have to do 30 minutes exercise on everyday basis. In Professors (female) Dr Anupama Gangrade scored first, Dr Reema Dewangan scored second and Smita Suresh Denial scored third position. In Professors (Male) Chandan Dekate scored first, Dr Laxman Prasad scored second and Pushkar Verma scored third position.
In Students (girls) Shweta scored first, Preeti scored second and Soumya scored third position. In Students (boys) Uday scored first, Naveen scored second and Akhil scored third position. Akash Tamrakar and Kanhaiya Pandey were officials of this event. Programme was conducted by NSS Officer Mahendra Ikhar.
Sports Officer Kailash Narayan proposed the vote of thanks and said that under the Program Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav various sports events will be organized in between August 28 to September 02. On this occasion HODs of various departments, professors and other staff members were present.
