BSP mgmt issues strong appeal to guard against COVID-19

Bhilai, Feb 25: The management of SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant has issued another strong appeal to employees and their families to take proactive steps and follow guidelines so as to combat the COVID – 19 virus. Committed for its employees’ health and safety, Bhilai Steel Plant has been making concerted efforts and taking all measures such as sanitisation at work places and has from time to time issued guidelines and circulars for wearing masks, use of sanitisers and maintaining social distancing etc at work places so as to prevent COVID 19 from spreading.
Different mediums of communication have been used to make employees, their family members and general population aware of the perils of not following COVID-19 guidelines. Consequently, BSP has been successful in containing the spread of COVID-19 pandemic to a large extent.
In wake of a new strain of Corona virus having emerged in neighbouring states as reported by health authorities, BSP management has once again urged employees to be safe, secure and follow social distancing norms. Health authorities have warned to be more cautious as the new strain of deadly virus is more dangerous to health and life. The management has therefore urged employees to be extra cautious, compulsorily wear masks, follow proper sanitisation procedures and wash hands regularly.
While reiterating that Circulars and SOPs issued in the past on the subject should be strictly complied by all employees, it has been emphasised that employees having flu-like symptoms should not report for duty and inform Departmental Nodal Officer. Further, they are expected to report to Casualty for further medical intervention and compulsorily adhere to the instructions given by the Medical authorities.
During the period of Home Isolation/ Quarantine, employee are required to follow the instructions given by the Medical Authorities and should report for duty only after completion of isolation period and certification from BSP Medical Authorities viz. JLN Hospital, Main Medical Post I, NOHSC near Sayantra Bhavan or Mines Hospitals. The full quarantine/isolation period has to be completed, even if the test report is negative.
In case of any inward travel to Head quarter by Self/Family members/Household members, employees shall compulsorily submit online declaration at e-sahyog on BSP Intranet and inform health authorities. While all HoDs/Controlling Officers have been requested to extend administrative support, it has been emphasised that any non-disclosure of information on the part of employees or non-compliance of precautionary measures would be viewed as suppression of facts/disobedience of lawful orders and they would be liable to disciplinary action as per rules.
Cooperation and care will certainly help in controlling the spread COVID-19. BSP management has therefore strongly issued this appeal again to employees, their families and citizens of Bhilai to be extremely vigilant and take precautionary measures while stepping out to work or elsewhere. One must not venture out unnecessarily and must strictly avoid mass gatherings at workplace, home or public places. Social distancing as a norm is to be adhered to, even when one is interacting with others.
