Prostitution racket busted; three held

Bhilai, Jul 11: With the arrest of two sex workers and a male pimp, police claimed to have busted a prostitution racket which was operated from a hotel situated in the posh colony of the city. The three accused have been booked under the provisions of Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.
On Saturday, SP Prashant Agrawal received a tip off regarding immoral activities and presence of alleged prostitutes at Hotel Rajshree situated in Nehru Nagar of Supela Police Station limits.
Police team led by Inspector C Tirkey (I/c, Mahila Thana) and ASI Jalaluddin immediately swung into action and took position near the hotel along with the team of Supela Police Station.
A pointer was sent to the hotel as a customer to verify the information. On pointer’s signal, police team conducted raid and two sex-workers and a male pimp were taken in custody from room number 106 of the hotel. The girls hail from Lucknow and Kolkata and have allegedly come for prostitution.
The male pimp Manish Radheshyam Singh (26) son of Shyam Singh a resident of Mominpura, Shitala Chowk was also arrested. They have been booked under the provisions of PITA Act. Police are investigating the involvement of the hotel staff and operator in this crime. If their involvement is discovered, action will be taken against them as per the laws.
