Police crackdown on junk dealers
Bhilai, Jul 22: On Thursday, 18 teams of Durg Police led by Inspector/Sub-Inspector rank officers conducted raids at the places of junk / scrap dealers in the district. A total of 50 police officers / personnel led by 18 inspectors / sub-inspectors raided more than 20 illegally operated junk yards in the city. Action was taken against the junk traders of Durg and Bhilai areas who were unable to give satisfactory reply and produce documents.
The police team raided the junkyard of Hameed Khokhar in Jewra Sirsa and recovered scrap iron items from Shabbir Ahmed. Action was taken against them under section 41(1+4) of CrPC and section 379 of IPC.
At the yard of Sakir Kabadi in Kelabadi, Police seized 6 quintals of iron angle, rod, pipe, iron bullock cart wheel, etc. Action was taken against him under section 41(1+4) of CrPC and section 379 of IPC.
During the raid at the junkyard of Lalit Kabadi in Jamul and Vaishali Nagar, Police team recovered iron bars, vehicle engines, four wheelers, gas cutter, welding machine and Rs One Lakh cash. About 100 tons of scrap was recovered. Action was taken against him under section 41(1+4) of CrPC and section 379 of IPC.
Raid was conducted at the Godown of Pal Kabadi in Jamul and seven quintals of junk was seized. Action was taken against him under section 41(1+4) of CrPC and section 379 of IPC.
Ajay Thakur Kabadi runs the scrap yard in Old Bhilai. A total of 10 tonnes of iron scrap junk was found from his godown. Action was taken against him under section 41(1+4) of CrPC and section 379 of IPC.
Mohammad Imran alias Sitare Kabadi runs a junk yard in Supela. Police seized iron junk weighing 4 tons worth Rs 14.70 lakhs from his place. Action was taken against him under section 41(1+4) of CrPC and section 379 of IPC. Apart from this, junk was seized from Anil Tandon of Durg, Police Kabadi of Supela, Ranjit Kabadi of Chhawani, Anil Rai Kabadi of Bhilai 3. Action was taken against them under section 41 (1+4) and 102 of CrPC.
Premises of Soni Kabadi in Durg, Shiv Kabadi, Bhagwat Kabadi, Jethu Kabadi, Azmat Kabadi, Sukhchain Kabadi, Suresh Pandey of Chhawani, Bhacha Kabadi and Nadeem Kabadi were found to be locked. Hence, police sealed their premises and prepared inquests.
