Police conducts intensive vehicle checking drive

Bhilai, Sep 12: In view of the festive season, police conducted intensive vehicle checking drive across the twin city on Saturday late evening. As a part of crime prevention exercise, the cops checked all the suspicious vehicles moving on the roads. Constant vigil is being maintained on the activities of suspects and criminal record holders. The cops were positioned at all the major traffic junctions. The twin-city was almost sealed from all the directions during this surprise checking drive. More than 300 jawans were positioned at 19 points in the city.
On the direction of Senior Superintendent of Police (Durg) Badri Narayan Meena, the police teams conducted checking of the random vehicles at more than 19 points in the city. In view of the festive season, city boundaries were almost sealed in all the four directions. Gazetted officers and station in-charges supervised the checking of suspicious vehicles, drunken drivers, modified vehicles, pressure horns, bikes with two pillion riders and vehicles carrying registration number of other states. Passenger vehicles were also checked.
In intensive checking drive, more than 300 personnel of Durg Police accompanied with traffic cops conducted this operation with the objectives of the prevention of crime and keeping an eye on suspicious activities.
Checking was done at Mohan Nagar – Green Chowk; Bus Stand Durg, Maharaja Chowk, Opposite Anjora Chowki, Y-shape Bridge; Pulgaon Chowk; Globe Chowk, Civic Center Chowk, Ruabandha Chowk, Sector 9 Hospital Tiraha, DPS Chowk; Equipment Square; Gada Chowk; Supela Chowk, Surya Mall Square; Power House Square; Khursipar Triangle; Sirsa Gate Chowk; and Kumhari Toll Plaza.
The intensive checking points were monitored by the Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Sanjay Kumar Dhruv. He visited all the points. Along with this, instructions were also given to ensure that there should not be any kind of misbehaviour and inconvenience to the common
citizens.
