Police busts interstate forking gang for robbing ATMs

Bhilai, Aug 29: With the arrest of two notorious ruffians, Durg Police claimed to have busted an inter-state gang of thieves which was involved in breaking the ATM machines to steal cash. The accused used the special tool to commit thefts.
They had committed thefts at the SBI ATMs located in Kawardha, Rajnandgaon and Durg districts of the state. Police have recovered Rs 13000 cash; one motorcycle; mobile phone and many ATM cards from their possession.
Police had received an alert message on Dial 112 after which Constable Keshav Sahu responded immediately and managed to trap the accused.
While addressing media persons at Police Control Room on Sunday, ASP Sanjay Dhruw informed that around 06:00 hrs on August 28, an alert message was received on Dial 112 regarding ransacking of ATM kiosk situated in Jevra.
Constable Keshav Sahu responded immediately and rushed to the spot and overpowered two suspects who were standing nearby. On searching, a special tool was recovered from their possession. During interrogation the suspects disclosed that they hail from Haryana.
One of them was residing in Dhandha area for the last 3 years. During sustained interrogation, they confessed to have stolen cash from ATM kiosks situated in Kawardha, Rajnandgaon and Durg district. Police have recovered Rs 13000 cash; Hero Deluxe motorcycle; 2 nos mobile phones and many ATM cards from their possession.
The accused identified as Ibrahim (32) son of Allah Meher a resident of Palwal, Haryana and Zubair (28) son of Harun, a resident of Punana, Haryana. Police have booked the accused under the provisions mentioned in section 457, 380, 427 of IPC.
