Absconding accused of abduction and rape arrested from Madhya Pradesh

Bhilai, Jul 10: Police have succeeded in arresting an accused of abducting and raping a minor girl. He was absconding for the last three years. However, police had rescued the victim safely within few days of the crime. Inspector Vijay Thakur (SHO, Bhilai Nagar) informed that they had received instructions from SP Prashant Agrawal for taking immediate action on the cases related to crime against women as well as ensuring arrest of the absconding accused.
In this sequel, a special team of Bhilai Nagar Police Station has been constituted for looking after the pending cases. Under the guidance of ASP (City) Sanjay Dhruw and CSP (Bhilai Nagar) Rakesh Joshi, the team collected electronic traces of an absconding accused Pankaj Ahirwar who was wanted in a case of abduction and rape of a minor girl.
On the basis of his call records, ASI Jitendra Chandrakar, Constable Harsh Dewangan and Sushil Chaudhary moved to village Purvamaal of District Seoni (MP) and succeeded in arresting the accused. The accused Pankaj Ahirwar (24) son of Gopi Ahirwar a resident of village Purvamaal, Seoni has been booked under the provisions mentioned in sections 363, 366, 376 of IPC and 3, 4 of POCSO Act. In the case, the victim was rescued safe within few days of the crime from Jabalpur (MP).
