Four ruffians held for loot

Bhilai, June 04: Police have arrested four ruffians on charges of loot. The accused had looted a car and other valuables from a person few days ago. Police worked hard to trace the accused and analysed the tower dump of almost 500 mobile phones and examined the CCTV Footages of 250 roads. The accused were in police net within 24 hours of the crime. police have recovered the looted car, mobile, wallet and other valuables from the possession of the accused. They had committed the crime to have money for spending lavishly and enticing their female friends.
Addressing media persons here at Police Control Room on Friday, SP Prashant Thakur informed that New Panchsheel Nagar Charoda resident S Shankar Rao returning home in his car bearing registration number CG07-BW-6438 at around 00:15 hrs on June 02. Near Balaji Marbles and Tiles, he stopped his car to talk with someone on mobile phone. In the meanwhile, four youth reached there on two bikes and one of them knocked the window on driver’s side.
When Shankar pulled down the window glass, the accused started hurling abusive words. Irked Shankar got off the car and entered into argument with the youth. Taking advantage of the situation, one of the accused escaped with the car. Three other ruffians overpowered Shankar and looted his mobile phone before escaping from the spot. On victim’s complaint, an FIR was lodged under sections 294, 506, 394 of IPC. Taking the matter into serious cognizance, a special team was constituted to investigate the matter. CCTV footages of 250 different roads was examined and tower dump of about 500 mobile phones was analysed. Under the directions of ASP (City) Sanjay Dhruw and CSP (Chhawani) Vishwas Chandrakar, Police team led by Inspector Vinay Singh Baghel managed to trace the
accused.
During interrogation, they confessed to have committed the crime. the accused were identified as Sameer Manikpuri (20) of Zone 3, Charoda; Deep Singh Shergill alias Deepak (24) a resident of Subhash Square, Khursipar; Ashirwadam Manikkyam Maanwel alias Chotu (21) a resident of Naveen Nagar Charoda and Omkar Nishad alias Abhay (20) a resident of Ahiwara. CSP Vishwas Chandrakar informed that the accused became friends in the jail. Offences are lodged against them in different police stations.
