Collector reviews preparations to tackle the possible third wave

Bhilai, Jun 23: Collector Dr Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure chaired an important meeting of the Task Force regarding the preparations for prevention being done by the administration for the possible third wave of novel coronavirus infection. He asked all the officers of the task force that what preparations they have made so far.
He questioned whether they need additional resources and what better can be done. The officials detailed about the preparations made so far and informed that in the central setup Chandulal Chandrakar Memorial Medical College (Kachandur), there will be an effective response with adequate infrastructure with a team of specialists.
Collector said that for corona combat, a large infrastructure is being created in the CCM to ensure proper treatment of most of the patients at one place. Officials said that a 400-bed oxygen cylinder setup is ready here. If children are also seriously infected, 100 beds have been arranged for this situation. It has 25 beds of ICU, 25 beds of HDU and 50 beds of normal oxygen beds.
Block Headquarters, Public Health Centres and Community Health Centres are also being strengthened with special arrangement of oxygen cylinders. Work is going on for a 20 bed hospital at the block headquarters. 5 cylinders will also be kept at PHC level.
Children from one month to 18 years will be treated by CCM, children below 1 month will be admitted in the SNCU of the district hospital. If children are infected, the entire team of paediatricians will be positioned in the CCM which is equipped with ventilators, HFNC machines, etc.
Collector asked Paediatrician Dr Malhotra to prepare a three-page study material to make children aware about Covid care during the online classes. It will be taught and a test will also be taken. Collector said that it is very important to make the children aware of precautions and their routine online classes can be very helpful in this direction. He said that by having such classes, children will be able to tell when they have symptoms of Covid, so that treatment can be provided at initial stages.
The technical team of AIIMS visited here to give suggestions regarding the complete arrangement of infrastructure for better treatment in CCM. Accordingly, the team suggested other important things including maintaining the oxygen supply.
