RGAY applications reviewed; pattas to be distributed soon

Bhilai, Aug 12: Collector Dr Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure, on Thursday visited Risali Municipal Corporation and reviewed the issues including patta (lease) distribution, pure drinking water and construction works.
He said that after examining the applications under Rajiv Gandhi Ashray Yojana (RGAY), the beneficiaries who are found eligible, should be marked for distribution of lease at the earliest. Collector also reviewed the drinking water situation in the area.
Risali Municipal Corporation Commissioner Prakash Sarwe said that there have been some complaints of pipeline leakage in Newai and Tanki Maroda area as well as complaints of low water pressure in these areas. To fix this problem, information has been given to the officials of the Amrut Mission. They have assured to resolve the problem soon. Collector asked the RMC officials to coordinate with concerned departments and resolve the water problem at its earliest.
Collector said that the Chief Minister has instructed to provide maximum facilities to the citizens and reduce the need to visit corporation offices for their problems. For this purpose, the camps should be regularly organised in the wards.
Commissioner Sarwe informed that camps are being organized in the wards on three days in a week. Sub engineers of PWD, officers of revenue and health departments are present in these camps. Effective action is ensured for the disposal of the applications received in the camps. Efforts are made to solve the problems on the spot.
Collector also reviewed the status of medical treatment being provided through Mobile Medical Units. Officials informed that two mobile units are operational in Risali and there are an average 150 OPD visits every day. Collector also reviewed the tests being done in the Mobile Medical Unit and the available facilities. He also reviewed the works of dengue control in Risali Municipal Corporation. Commissioner said that regular checks of coolers and water logging are being done and Tamiphos is being sprayed regularly.
Collector said that the corporation officers should keep a special watch on the civic amenities. Whether it is application related to permission or certificate, efforts should be made to dispose of the applications within minimum time. For this purpose, regular monitoring of the work of all branches is necessary. Collector also inquired about the works related to city sanitation.
He said that all the parks should be in good condition and all the public toilets should be regularly cleaned. The officials must maintain a close watch on teh city sanitation works. Commissioner Sarwe informed that Risali Municipal Corporation has got ODF plus-plus status in the Swachha Sarvekshan.
