Cultural performances of Divyang children enthrall audience

Bhilai, Sep 19: GE Foundation organised a colourful program “Abhivyakti Ki Udan” in the auditorium of Bhilai Nair Samajam School, Sector-08 to give a platform to the talents of differently-abled children, in which 08 schools of Divyangjan participated. The Director-in-Charge of SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant, Anirban Dasgupta and Durg district’s SP IPS, Abhishek Pallava were present as chief guests to bless this great cultural program of Divyangjan. Executive Director (Mines), Tapan Sutradhar, Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax, Rajesh Pali and SEFI Chairman and BSP Officers’ Association, President NK Banchhor were present as special guests. Apart from this, President of Bhilai Mahila Samaj Triparna Dasgupta, Additional Vice-President Maitreyi Sutradhar, Income Tax Officer Usha Shailesh and Shweta Pali were present as special guests. Along with this, Pradeep Pillai, Convener of GE Foundation, EKS Nair, President of Bhilai Nair Samaj and Vice President Shailesh Kumar and Subhash Chandra, senior journalist EV Murali, Councilor Vashisht Narayan Mishra were also present.

 

The program was inaugurated with lighting the lamp by the Director-in-Charge of SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant, Anirban Dasgupta and other guests present amidst the chanting of Saraswati Vandana by  Kumari Harshita and Kumari Vaishnavi. All the guests were welcomed with a bouquet of flowers. The welcome address was presented by Dr Jyoti Pillay, an active member of GE Foundation and Professor of BIT Durg. The program was coordinated and conducted by senior litterateur Satyawan Nayak.

Schools participating in this program include Divyajyoti School, Muskan School-Bhilai, Sneh Sampada School, Pragati School, Bright School, Manavta School, Sarthak Kadam School, Bhilai, Sarthak School, Dhamtari. The differently-abled children of these schools captivated the audience and guests by presenting more than 20 cultural programs. At the beginning of the program, visually impaired children made a splash with the presentation of Chhattisgarh’s state song Arpa Parry. Apart from this, the dance performed on the song of Har Har Shambhu compelled the audience to clap. The dance performed on Ganesh Vandana and Jawara Geet captivated the guests. Apart from this, the solo singing of the children and the dance performance given while sitting on the wheel chair mesmerized the audience. The guests and spectators were astonished to see the talent of the Divyangjans.

The chief guest, while praising the presentation of the handicapped children, said that this effort of GE Foundation has certainly succeeded in giving a new direction to the talent of these differently-abled children. He wished the children a better future and especially thanked the teachers who trained and educated them, adding that only because of their hard work, these children could be successful in showing their talent.

In this sequence, District SP Dr Abhishek Pallava while giving his blessings said that the society should adopt a sensitive attitude towards these differently-abled children. These children are very naive; we need to give them opportunities to progress in life. If we all try together in the society, then these children will become abled from disabled. This effort of GE Foundation is very exemplary.

At the end of the program, the guests honoured the differently-abled children by presenting them with certificates and trophies. The program was conducted by senior litterateur Satyawan Nayak and vote of thanks given by Swati Pandawar, member of GE Foundation.
