Operation Muskaan: Abducted juvenile rescued from Maharashtra

Bhilai, Jul 28: District Police are conducting Operation Muskaan for searching the missing and abducted children. Under this operation, a juvenile girl was successfully rescued from Gondia (Maharashtra). She was lured by a youth to flee with him on the promise of marriage.
The accused had taken the girl to Gondia and established sexual relations with her. The victim girl has been handed over to the custody of her parents. The accused has been produced before the court and sent to jail on judicial remand.
CSP Vishwas Chandrakar informed that under the directions of SP Prashant Agrawal and guidance of ASP (City) Sanjay Dhruv, the team of Khursipar Police Station was making efforts to trace and search the missing persons. Special attention is being paid to cases in which minors and females are missing. In one such case, police had received a complaint about missing of a sixteen-and-a-half year old girl. She had left home without informing the family.
Initially a case was lodged under section 363 of IPC and search operations were launched. Police quizzed all the friends and suspects and came to know that the girl had fled with a boy. Police were unable to trace the whereabouts of the girl as her mobile phone was switched off.
With sustained efforts, police got some clues and all the links were connected to trace the girl. Police team was sent to the village Arjuni Morgaon in Gondia (Maharashtra) and the girl was rescued.
The suspect Anmol Kashyap (26) son of Ramashray Kashyap a resident of Quarter no 71/F, KLC Khursipar was also taken in custody. On the basis of the statement given by the victim girl, case was lodged against Tarachand Sahu under sections 363 (Kidnapping) and 366 (abducting any woman with the intent that she may be compelled to either get her married or forced / seduced to have illicit intercourse); and sections 4, 6 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
He was produced before the court and has been sent to jail on judicial remand. SI Satish Sahu, Constable Rakesh Chaudhary, D Prakash and Toshi Goswami played vital role in rescuing the girl.
