DMC imposes fine for spreading litter and obstructing road

Bhilai, Dec 08: Durg Municipal Corporation is regularly taking action against the people involved in spreading garbage and obstructing passages by doing business on roads. A fine of Rs 500 was taken imposed on cattle byre while Rs 2500 fine was imposed on two shopkeepers who had placed the items on the road.
As per the instructions given by Municipal Corporation Commissioner Haresh Mandavi during his last inspection, a team led by Assistant Health Officer took action against the illegally operated cattle byre located below the Y-Shaped ROB. The byre owner was fined for spreading garbage. Two shops are located nearby where cement pot making is done.
The shopkeepers had placed huge quantity of cement pots and tanks on the road. They were using the road for displaying their saleable items. Both the shopkeepers were fined Rs 2500 each. Assistant Health Officer Javed Ali, Ishwar Verma, Rajendra Sarrate and team members were present.
The fine was imposed by the health officer as per the instructions of the commissioner. All the shopkeepers and cattle byres were also instructed to maintain cleanliness as the cleanliness survey 2022 is underway in the city.
They were instructed fro not throwing the garbage of the shops and don’t let garbage accumulation nearby. The health officer said that people should be made aware of cleanliness. He urged the people sure to inform the health officer about anyone throwing garbage on streets and other places.
