Collector interacts with Hill Korwa’s

Korba, Nov 30:
District Collector Ranu Sahu reached into remote village of Kadamchariya and Jhatasarai, and interacted with Hill Korwas, an indigenous tribe of Central India, and Chhattisgarh.
The Collector inquired about the providence of basic amenities to the tribe, and directed officials to rehabilitate them, into employment schemes and generate provisions of self employment like goat rearing and mushroom cultivation. She also distributed mini seed kits to the tribe to start vegetable cultivation, and asked officials to form groups of 10 women to encourage livelihood projects in the region.
An ailing 6 year old Surendra Kumar was assisted to medical help by the Collector in the same village. The village, a remote hamlet, has a population of 150 Hill Korwa’s residing in 30 odd families. Here water is still a cause of worry, and the Collector asked the officials to initiate the making of small tanks to encourage water storage, in areas with water capacity and low flow. She also asked officials to aid help for ration and pension assistance to the tribe facing commutation problems.A neem tree, was chosen for the open chaupal cum interaction program by the Collector for a open dialogue with the tribes here. Present with the Collector were CEO Zial Panchayat Nutan Kawar, SDM KOrba, HR Paikra, Assistant Director Tribal Development Department Maya Warrier, Anil Shukla, and other officials.
