Intensive anti-larvae drive being carried in Township

Bhilai, Jun 18: As part of intensive anti-larvae drive being carried out by Public Health Dept (PHD) of SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant’s Town Services Dept in the township, water coolers were checked for larvae, insecticide sprayed and fogging was carried out in Street 1 to Street 21 of Sector 4 yesterday and today, including residence of a suspected dengue patient residing in Street 13. Residents were advised to clean their coolers and water storage tanks every week and to use Temephos solution every four days.
A joint team of the Plant’s Public Health Dept, Bhilai Municipal Corporation and Health Department, Durg imposed fine of Rs 1000 upon finding larvae in 10 households. Residents have been advised to clean coolers, water tanks, tubs etc in gardens every day. Residents who have been fined have been warned that fine of Rs 2000 would be imposed if larvae is found in their houses for the second time. Residents were warned that action would be taken under Epidemic Diseases Act if larvae is found again. Residents have been advised to ensure medically checked-up for malaria or Corona if fever persists.
